Why is there a BETA in StudyHQ's logo?

The term Beta means that this is the first version of our website release. We are aware that there are desirable features that are not currently available in this version. We encourage users to test our product and provide feedback that may be included in future versions. We ask for your patience and understanding and we hope you enjoy our current content.

How do I create flashcards?

Feel free to use our flashcard editor to create your own sets of flashcards. In the editor, you can create cards by typing directly into the compose window and "Add a Card" individually - or - use our "Import Data" feature if you have the content ready to go.

How do I setup my data to import into the flashcard editor?

We recommend setting up your document in a spreadsheet editor such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.

The FIRST column should contain the information intended for the "FRONT" side, and the SECOND column should contain information intended for the "BACK" side of the card. Make sure you DO NOT enter any line breaks or styling within each cell as this would cause formatting issues when you upload the data for bulk creation.

COPY the content of BOTH COLUMNS, and then directly paste into the Import Data field. This may look a little awkward, but as long as the data is set up correctly, your cards should generate beautifully! If you made a mistake in your data, you may start a new set of uploads as many times as you need!

How do I style my flashcards?

You may style flashcards using our WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) richtext editor that is found above the flashcard compose window. The editor currently supports text sizing, text color, bolding, italicizing, underlining, ordered lists, bulleted lists, subscript, superscript, left, center, and right alignment. At this time, we only support one font in the editor.

If you are an advanced user with knowledge of CSS and HTML, you may try to style your data inline on the spreadsheet. Please refer to our "good" formatting and "bad" formatting for examples of how you should setup your data.

Is there a maximum number of flashcards I can create?

At this time, the BETA version of StudyHQ supports the creation of up to 500 cards per set. However, there is no limit to the number of sets you can create.

How do I add images to my flashcards?

At this time, the BETA version of StudyHQ does not support image uploads for user generated content. The flashcard generator only supports text-based content. However, we are working to bring you this feature very soon, so please stick around for our future improvements.

How do I save my flashcards for future use?

At this time, the BETA version of StudyHQ does not support user registration so we are unable to archive your creations. We recommend that you BOOKMARK or FAVORITE the flashcard url within your browser. You may also share the page on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ to preserve a link to the flashcard set.

How do I edit a flashcard set that I previously created?

At this time, the BETA version of StudyHQ does not support user registration so we are unable to save your content for future editing. However, when you use our editor, as long you do not close the current session, you may continuously edit your set and generate new previews until you achieved the desired result.

How do I print flashcards from StudyHQ?

On the Preview and Study modes of a flashcard set, there is a DOWNLOAD button at the top-right section of the page. On click, StudyHQ will produce a PDF version of your flashcard set: four cards per page. The EVEN numbered pages (2, 4, 6 etc.) contain the FRONT SIDE information and ODD numbered pages (3, 5, 7) contain the BACK SIDE information. Feel free to download this onto your computer for future printing or you may choose to print directly from your Internet browser.

Here are some other tips:

  1. Consult and test your printer's double-sided printing instructions before committing to printing a full set.
  2. Always review the full set before printing. If your flashcards set has any text overflow, this copy may not appear in the PDF (as it will not fit within the designated size.)
  3. Disable "Fit to Page" or other options which modify the size of the content or its page margins. You want to print using the "Actual Size".
  4. Print using landscape orientation, not portrait.
  5. These flashcards can be printed on any paper, but they are specifically designed to fit 4 cards per 8.5" by 11" paper dimension.
  6. Depending on your printer's capabilities, but it may be easiest to print all odd pages first, flip all pages over to the correct orientation, return the stack to the paper feeder and then print all even pages.

How do I study on StudyHQ?

Everyone studies a little differently. We recommend familiarizing yourself with the full set of content on the Preview Mode. Then, test your memory by using our Study Mode. You are first shown the front side of the card. Click SHOW ANSWER to see if you thought of the correct answer. You can "HIDE ANSWER" to test yourself again. If you like to start the test over, simply click the RESET button.

Why are some features not working on my Internet Explorer browser?

To bring our users the best experience, StudyHQ uses some web development technology that is not supported by older browser versions. If you are currently using Internet Explorer version 8 or lower, please upgrade your browser to the LATEST VERSION
